My first MAC lipsticks
I'm not really a fan of lipstick (I think it's because I hate my lip shape and don't want to draw attention to it!) but after looking at blogs I decided I wanted to try out some MAC lipsticks. Both were £15 from my local MAC in Debenhams.
Pink Pearl Pop - Cremesheen

MAC describes this colour as "frosted mid-tonal pink". I think it's a beautiful colour, perfect for wearing in the day to give your face a fresh feeling; and even at night to give your look a pop of colour. The overall feel of this lipstick is creamy (hence the cremesheen formula) and it looks shiny and glossy. It smells/tastes like vanilla, a bonus as some lipsticks have a very strong, chemical type smell which isn't very appealing.
Overall, I would give this lipstick a 4/5, due to the touchups needed and the drying out. It is, however, a gorgeous colour and perfect for everyday wear.
Crosswires - Cremesheen

MAC describes this shade as a "clean, pinky orange". This colour doesn't flush me out, considering it has orange tones, and if anyone is looking for a reddish colour but doesn't want the brightness, I think it is perfect. Again, this is a cremesheen meaning it is super-glossy and creamy.
Swatch in natural light
Like Pink Pearl Pop, I have had to touchup throughout the day, but this one doesn't seem to transfer as much. I don't know if that's due to this colour being less bright as Pink Pearl Pop and I might not notice it as much!
I love the pinkiness of this colour, yet it is quite a low toned lipstick and not that bright - great throughout the day if you want a more natural look teamed with natural eye makeup. Overall, like Pink Pearl Pop, I would give Crosswires a 4/5 due to the touchups needed.
For my next MAC lipstick purchase, I would love to try a nude colour such as Shy Girl, Creme Cup or Lovelorn. I would also like to try a different finish and see if another finish suits my lips better!
Thanks for reading,
Scarlett x
