No7 Lash Impact Mascara

No7 Lash Impact Mascara

So, yesterday I had a long-awaited shopping trip with my Auntie who had just come back to England after living in Germany for 2 and a half years. She decided that she wanted to get her foundation matched at the No7 counter, which she couldn't in Germany as she didn't really try to learn German and it would have been extremely hard to try and talk makeup...
It was 3 for 2 so she also bought a blusher and the new Lash Impact Mascara. I had seen the advert on tv and wanted to try this out, so I got one too.

I think the packaging is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love glitter and think it makes the product look so pretty, rather than your normal plain black mascara tube.

There is a large bristle brush, perfect if you love volume and have no lashes at all (like moi!). The texture doesn't seem sticky on my lashes at all, and it doesn't clump either which is great. One thing I hate about mascara is that they can leave smudges under your eye, and after wearing it all day today and stressing at school, I am happy to say there was no smudge! I'm always worrying if there's a black mark under my eye in case it looks like I've been punched, and so far I am definitely glad I made the choice to get this.

I have a few coats on here, I just love it!!
The next great thing is that with the mascara, you receive a free gift box! (I think this is only on for a limited time, plus the mascara being £10 to start, so get yourself down to Boots!!)

You get:
a full size Felt Tip Eyeliner
a full size High Shine lipgloss (mine was in Whisper)
a pot of eyeshadow (sheer brown)
and a minature Extreme Length Extend mascara

I thought this gift was absolutely amazing to get for free, and it contains things that I would definitely use so it is not a waste!

I can't wait to keep using the Lash Impact mascara to see if it lasts a good length of time.

I think No7 is a great brand if you're looking for affordable, lovely makeup. They also have a great range of products which can offer dupes for high end makeup brands.

And plus, if they're giving away gifts for free, I will definitely be using them a lot more.

MAC Lipglass in Lovechild

MAC Lipglass review

I recently bought a MAC Lipglass online directly from the MAC website for £14. I thought I would try a Lipglass as I wear lipgloss often; mainly in nudes and pinks, but I thought I would try and be brave and buy a different colour!

I decided to try the colour Lovechild; it is a pinky plum colour (described on the MAC website as "coppered plum".

There are tiny specks of shimmer seen in the tube, which you can definitely see on the lips. It makes the colour shine and look amazing, which I definitely love in a lipgloss.

The texture is sticky when first applied, but hardly noticeable throughout the day. Touchups are needed, as after about an hour it can stick to the dry spots on your lips. I'm not really bothered about touching up as lipgloss doesn't necessarily dry out my lips like some lipsticks!

I guess the only annoying thing about wearing a lipgloss is when it is windy and your hair gets stuck to it...

Anyway, I am in LOVE with this Lipglass and think it will be something I wear often!

Have you ever had a MAC lipglass? What do you think?

FIRST MAC LIPSTICKS - PINK PEARL POP & CROSSWIRES

My first MAC lipsticks

I'm not really a fan of lipstick (I think it's because I hate my lip shape and don't want to draw attention to it!) but after looking at blogs I decided I wanted to try out some MAC lipsticks. Both were £15 from my local MAC in Debenhams.

Pink Pearl Pop - Cremesheen

 Lipstick
From the MAC website

MAC describes this colour as "frosted mid-tonal pink". I think it's a beautiful colour, perfect for wearing in the day to give your face a fresh feeling; and even at night to give your look a pop of colour. The overall feel of this lipstick is creamy (hence the cremesheen formula) and it looks shiny and glossy. It smells/tastes like vanilla, a bonus as some lipsticks have a very strong, chemical type smell which isn't very appealing.

Swatch in natural light

Throughout the day, I do have to touchup a lot as it transfers easily. It can also dry out my lips making the lines visible, but I don't know if that is due to the fact that my lips dry out easily?!

Overall, I would give this lipstick a 4/5, due to the touchups needed and the drying out. It is, however, a gorgeous colour and perfect for everyday wear.

Crosswires - Cremesheen

 Lipstick
From the MAC website

MAC describes this shade as a "clean, pinky orange". This colour doesn't flush me out, considering it has orange tones, and if anyone is looking for a reddish colour but doesn't want the brightness, I think it is perfect. Again, this is a cremesheen meaning it is super-glossy and creamy.

Swatch in natural light

Like Pink Pearl Pop, I have had to touchup throughout the day, but this one doesn't seem to transfer as much. I don't know if that's due to this colour being less bright as Pink Pearl Pop and I might not notice it as much!

I love the pinkiness of this colour, yet it is quite a low toned lipstick and not that bright - great throughout the day if you want a more natural look teamed with natural eye makeup. Overall, like Pink Pearl Pop, I would give Crosswires a 4/5 due to the touchups needed.

For my next MAC lipstick purchase, I would love to try a nude colour such as Shy Girl, Creme Cup or Lovelorn. I would also like to try a different finish and see if another finish suits my lips better!
